MARCIA FRIEDMAN was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin as a Russian language major. She later went on to study art at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles (Pasadena).

Marcia was a cutting-edge fashion designer featured in leading magazines and newspapers, such as:  Vogue, Bazaar, W, and Sports Illustrated, and for her to segue into photography was a natural progression for her creative expression. From reality photography, as depicted in her acclaimed book, CUBA: The Special Period, her work then evolved into a more imaginative form by combining her altered photography with painting.  Her contemporary mixed media paintings explore the reality photography realm and infusing her imagination to produce the resulting enhanced images.

Marcia’s work has been featured in galleries, museums and foundation exhibits around the country, as well as featured in major art magazines such as Art Business News and Décor Her work has been selected from artists around the world to exhibit in the Biennale Internazionale Dell’Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy.
