TOD ANDREWS, bassist, born in Hollywood, California, first got started in music at the age of 12 when he and his grandmother went to Sears where he spotted an electric guitar and amplifier and asked his grandmother to buy it for him.  Instead, his grandmother took him to a pawn shop and bought him his first guitar for $21.00, which he still has.  He is self-taught learning by playing along with records and following the notes.

Tod’s bands have opened for blues greats Michael Bloomfield (Paul Butterfield Blues Band), and Buddy Miles (Electric Flag and Jimi Hendrix), to name a few. He appeared on tour with Country Hall of Fame star Bobby Bare. He even played with Donnie Brooks on the theme songs for George of the Jungle and Super Chicken, officially making him the coolest member of NRQ. As a recording engineer Tod’s worked with some of the best in the industry: Joe Cocker, Ray Manzarek of the Doors, and Alex Acuna of Weather Report, to name a few.

Currently, Tod is the bassist for The New Rhythm Quartet (NRQ), a contemporary jazz & blues group based in Las Vegas. The band is composed of four experienced musicians and featured vocalist with backgrounds in multiple genres, including blues, jazz, rock, fusion, R&B, and gospel.
