BILLY BILGER, drummer, is originally from Philadelphia and started playing drums at the age of nine. He studied jazz, be-bop, and big band drumming with Dave Levin and studied percussion at The Philadelphia Musical Academy in his home town. His influences include Buddy Rich, Louis Bellson, Dave Black, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams with Miles Davis, and Buddy Miles to name a few.
He started touring with the Hank Allen review in the Midwest and landed in Lake Tahoe, Nevada where he began playing for the Ray Anthony Orchestra and toured throughout the U.S., Mexico, Europe, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Billy has also performed with many rock bands on Don Kirshner’s rock concert in Los Angeles for John Travolta, at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe for the production show “Bedazzle” and played for Sammy Davis, Jr. and Liza Minelli. Music has enriched Billy’s life through the many talented artists he has met and performed with over his career.
Billy has been living in Las Vegas since 2004. He has recorded and played for several artists on the Las Vegas strip and is currently playing for the New Rhythm Quartet in Las Vegas.
