Jerry Blank’s current theme in his world premiere historic tribute series The Art of Music captures the movement and sounds of the vibrating beats and rhythms of America and its music greats throughout the decades in jazz, rock and country, in vibrant colors and bold strokes and with all that jazz! Each work of art pays a symbolic and historic tribute to the immortal musical giants like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, and Jerry’s Rat Pack – tributes to Fran Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr., Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morison, The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Cash, Santana, Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, Elvis and John Steward of Kingston Trio. His vibrant themes have expanded to Sports Legends and Entertainment Giants, as well. These highly sought after and collected artistic tribute paintings capture the character and soul of each performer and artist.
Jerry’s raison d’etre is to provoke and inspire the viewers’ visual memory of these great artists and their accomplishments and also to peak the curiosity of a younger generation with these grand salutes to these great musicians and entertainers. Blank’s watercolors, acrylics and oils are in prestigious private and public collections throughout North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
His formidable artistic education and art career spans over forty years, having studied art and design at San Jose State University. He went on to receive his BS degree in Industrial Design from SJSU. His art finds inspiration in the French Impressionist movement and a yearlong sabbatical in Paris prolifically yielded over fifty paintings of old world and European inspirations.
Jerry Blank has also built a collection of over thirty Las Vegas Strip paintings which capture the excitement, pulse and legacy of this vibrant city. As Vegas changes and evolves over the decades, the painting have a historical quality in addition to their timeless and moving beauty. Jerry Blank’s works have shown in galleries in New York, Miami, West Palm Beach, Hilton Head, Houston, San Jose and Monterey. Jerry also spent most of 2009 as a ‘Celebrity Artist’ on cruise ships sailing the Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera.
Currently his work can be seen in galleries in New York, Nantucket, Miami, Laguna Beach and Las Vegas, as well as several online galleries.
