Ten years ago, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and surrounding areas with much devastation and turmoil.  It is often the aftermath of a storm created by Mother Nature that provides the bitter/sweet experiences of it all. For us in Las Vegas, one of the more sweet happenings to come out of that time was the return of Earl Turner, a multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician, dancer and actor. He reappeared with a regular show at Palace Station until the economic downturn.  Since then, he has been here occasionally, but mostly cruises as guest headliner for the Royal Caribbean International Cruise Liner.

Earl began here in the Las Vegas lounges, had his own showroom at the Rio, and then, Rio owners Harrah’s moved him to New Orleans where they transformed the Mansion Ballroom into the Earl Turner Theatre, performing there for 2 years until Hurricane Katrina hit.  Earl has performed across the country and has shared the stage with many of the greats (Lou Rawls, Gladys Knight, K.C. and the Sunshine Band and many others.

Earl has received many awards and was inducted into the New Orleans Music Hall of Fame.  He has worked with the Special Olympics and in January, 2014, Earl became acting spokesperson for the Nevada Easter Seals.  He is working on a new album, including a video and single, for release later this year.
