Forgotten Song Foundation Board Member – Quin Rivers

Another interesting Board member with her own talent is poet Quin Rivers. Words have always been beautiful to her – the sound and pleasure they are capable of stirring within her soul. She learned to write poems as a child and is in the process of completing her book of poetry, “Think of Me When You Drink Tea,” soon to be published. Following is her poem, “Reason for My Smile,” published in July, 2015, for the Launching New Dimensions of Faith by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

REASON FOR MY SMILE

Wishful thinking is hoping that you stay a long while
I can truly say you are the reason for my smile

There is sunshine in the rain
No more sadness or pain
There’s a sparkle in my eyes
And I am so alive

Wishful thinking is hoping that you stay a long while
I can truly say you are the reason for my smile
Looking at the stars that shine oh so bright
A voice in my head says everything is alright

Reminisce about happy talk, dreams of those to come
Our conversations that begins at the setting of the sun
Difficult times we share to hang up the phone
We both know within our hearts, we wish not to be alone
