LAURA SHAFFER, vocalist, was born and raised in Las Vegas, and started performing professionally when she was still a teenager.  A veteran of the world famous Las Vegas Strip, she has appeared in nearly all of its major hotels.  Laura’s musical ability comes by way of her father, pianist/arranger/recording artist Charlie Shaffer, who has written arrangements for the likes of Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, and The Houston Symphony Pops Orchestra, and was accompanist/Musical Director for Peggy Lee, Lola Folana, Joe Williams, Debbie Reynolds, and others.

Laura, known as the “Noir Nightingale,” has gathered an international, multi-generational fan base with her glamorous vintage look and her sultry take on the great jazz, torch, and swing standards.  She also performs special engagements nationally for gala events, celebrity launches, and heads of state.  Laura is the owner of Midnight Refrain, a media and consumer content company that focuses on the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s in music, fashion, print, and related products.

Currently, Laura is in production with the follow-up to her 2011 album, “Julie London Songbook,” as well as a classic pin-up tribute 2014 calendar.
