On February 22, Forgotten Song Music,  in collaboration with Jazz for Peace,  celebrated the Midnight Muse project with 10 of the 12 visual artists involved in the Midnight Muse project who displayed their art for the evening. The artists in the gallery that evening were: Anya Peterson, Flor Mendez-Osman, Tanja Nickolic Nobert, Jennifer Main, Karla Rehm, Ruel James, Nancy Good  , Beti Kristof,  Marilyn St. Pierre and Terry Ritter.  Be sure to check out their work on their various websites and bios to learn more about these wonderful artists!

The art and jazz filled evening began with a sneak peak of the Midnight Muse film that will be released on March 29. This was followed up by a pre-show line up of performances with Marianne Phoenix, Sophia Lelis, Pam-e Williams, Toscha Comeaux and the NRQ Band which includes Guy Amato, guitar, Mike Hepner, piano, Tod Andrews, bass, and Billy Bilgar, drums.  We then awarded our very first scholarship to the Jazz Studies Program at CSN to  outstanding student Carlos Holguin!

Raffles were awarded to the lucky winners and Jennifer Main and Anya Peterson created “live art” on stage for the entire evening.  Their art, along with Terry Ritter, Ruel James and Flor Mendez will be auctioned off online until March 20 for scholarship funds for the remaining scholarships that will be awarded at the March 29 event. The final portion of the evening, we were entertained by the smooth jazz sounds of Rick Della Ratta of Jazz for Peace.  He was accompanied by our very own Michael Candito on drums and Ken Seiffert on bass.  We had over 200 guests in attendance for this event, and can’t wait for the end of March event: The Midnight Muse Project. See you there!
