Marchand, singer and songwriter, was born in Florida and spent her childhood years in Idaho and Washington.  She graduated with a degree in French literature from the University of Grenoble and the University of Nice, France and received her BA degree in Drama from the University of Washington.  After college she returned to Paris and worked as a translator for 3 years for an oil drilling company.  She is fluent in French, speaks Spanish, and sings in French,  Spanish, and Italian.
She studied ballet and performed with the Smaltzoff Ballet Company (a Russian troupe in Los Angeles), dancing Russian character pieces in operas and other shows.  Marchand has sung in hotels and clubs world-wide and performed as a lounge singer at the Hotel del Coronado in California and other venues in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She was invited to perform at President Reagan’s inauguration and performed for President Clinton (in Honolulu) and then-Governor Bush as a featured singer at the Crystal Ball (in Dallas).
Marchand formed her own bands, “Boots” and “Marchand and the Jazz Stars,” and performed for 5 years at the Coronado Summer Concert Series.  Since moving to Las Vegas she has performed at varied venues: night clubs, conventions, Mayor Goodman’s Mother’s Day brunch with the Walt Boenig Big Band, and the Spanish Trails Country Club.  Almost her entire life, Marchand has been busy creating music and has five music CDs to her name:  Coronado a’la Francaise, MorningStar, Rhythm in Love, L’Esprit d’Aloha and Cheers.   She sang for five years at Christ Episcopal Church with “Jazzus Ecclesiasticus,” pianist Jim Geffert’s praise band.  She is currently singing at the Saturday jazz service at Grace in the Desert Episcopal Church with “Bare Bones” praise band.
Her favorite writing style is “Gospel French Country Jazz”– she says she has a French head, a country heart, and an abundantly jazz-filled soul.
