GIL KAUPP, trumpeter, studied at the University of North Texas and University of Texas, El Paso, majoring in Jazz Performance.   After his studies, Gil moved to Munich, Germany to pursue a career as a professional trumpet player.

Gil spent many years playing on stage and in studios in Europe.  Based in Munich, he has performed on countless jingles and more than 200 albums and over 40 motion picture soundtracks including, “The Silence of the Lambs,” and “The Never Ending Story.”  Since moving to Las Vegas, he has performed with Clint Holmes, as well as Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, Nathan Tanouye & The Yellow Jackets, and many more top headliners.

Currently, Gil performs with Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns at the Palms Hotel & Casino, and 5 nights with the Donny & Marie show at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino. During the day, Gil is Professor of Music Technology & Recording Engineer at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and is the Jazz Trumpet instructor at UNLV.
